Chautauqua presents nationally acclaimed historical interpreters in programs specifically developed for youth groups to engage, educate, and empower students in geographic areas with racial, educational, and financial disparities through programs of historic interpretation and engagement. Background materials and lesson plans are provided.
Chautauqua also provides instruction for teachers to learn how to teach students to research and present historical figures.

“Outstanding performance! The Carolina High School students were hanging on to every word and even after we paused for questions the students wanted to hear more of the story! ” Chris Emerson, Carolina High School
“They LOVED it! They came in today (Monday…3 days later) still discussing how funny the speaker was and how much they enjoyed it.” Julie Nelson 5th Grade Teacher, Welcome Elementary School.
The Young Chautauqua programs are supported, in part, by the generosity of the Friends of Chautauqua.
