History Comes Alive Festival June 9-19, 2022

Get ready to laugh, cry and flat out have a great time at this Festival of non-stop live history and fun for the whole family. Daily live shows and more are performed in costume by nationally acclaimed historical interpreters. And most all the shows are FREE!

Step back in time and meet these brilliant Americans who stepped up to accept the challenges of their lifetimes.

All of them faced and accepted the incredible challenges of their times with resiliency and persistence. Their stories span the arts of war, politics, painting, social protest, and even deception. Hear their stories – ask them how their world changed – and why they accepted the gauntlet.

Live performances will be held outdoors in the evenings and indoors during the day. Shows will be presented in Greenville, Mauldin, and Spartanburg, SC – Brevard and Asheville, NC – Athens, GA. Bring lawn seating for outdoor shows. Most indoor shows require prior registration.

  • Doug Mishler as General and President, Dwight Eisenhower
  • Leslie Goddard as Artist and Modernist, Georgia O’Keeffe
  • Jeremy Meier as Politician and Attorney General, Robert Kennedy
  • Becky Stone as Attorney and Priest, Pauli Murray
  • Larry Bounds as Magician and Skeptic, Harry Houdini

There will be great story-telling, lots to laugh about, and deep secrets revealed. You’ll laugh – you’ll cry – you’ll have lots of questions. And they’ll be answered. Bring your stories. Share your experiences. Get inspired. Because you’re a part of the show. It’s not just history – it’s personal.
